This is a complimentary offer! You will not be charged for the copy, design, or development of your website. However, you will pay for the following:
- Website domain: $10
- Website hosting: approximately $50 for the first year, then $180 per year
- Photos: either
- Stock imagery: approximately $50
- Custom photography: cost depends on the photographer you choose
Total costs: ~ $110 for the first year
The website will be created in WordPress -- today's most popular website builder. Among many benefits, WordPress allows you to edit the text of your website once development is complete, so you'll be able to make text changes on your own if needed.
Yes. You can expect to invest 6-10 hours over the course of this 5-month process. And you undertake to respond within 2 business days to any questions from the copywriter or design student so they can progress and complete your website.
Yep! There are 19 copywriter-designer pairs in this program. So 19 lucky businesses will get this opportunity.
This is highly unlikely, because you will have selected and signed off on the design theme. If it does happen, we do not obligate you, but the students may still use the site in their personal portfolios.
Yes, you can still apply to participate, provided you are also interested in a full website rewrite. We will not be copying and pasting existing content from your site.
Keep in mind that this offer includes 3 specific pages (home, about, contact), even if your current site has more pages.
The fine print:
What you need to know before applying
Imagery: Great websites feature compelling, trust-inspiring images.
To that end, we require that you either:
- Engage a professional photographer to capture custom photos for your site. (A student photographer is acceptable.)
- Agree to use stock photography OR stock illustration. (You may need to pay ~$50 total for this.)
The process: We've crafted it carefully
- Copywriting: You'll meet with the copywriter and answer questions about your business. You'll review the copywriter's brand summary and outlines, as well as the drafts of web copy they produce, with 2 rounds of revisions included.
- Design: The designer will solicit your design preferences and, based on those, offer 2 design options. You'll choose one, and she'll design and develop the site in that framework, with 2 rounds of revisions included.
Permissions: We work hard for our bragging rights.
In joining this program, you agree that:
- The copywriter and design student may showcase the final website in their portfolios.
- CopyTribe and Design Alive may showcase the final website in marketing assets.
Feedback: Client feedback is priceless!
